The Freshman Award
The Freshman Award acknowledges a freshman that
strives to become a future leader through his/her active
participation in and contribution to General Engineering
events.
Created
by ISGE in the Spring Semester of 2002, the The Freshman
Award is a unique award that focuses solely on ones
leadership potential. This award was founded in honor of
a student who was extremely active during his freshman year
at UIUC. Through his regular participation in ISGE and Department
events, he was quickly recognized as The Freshman
by GE upperclassman. The Freshman Award acknowledges
a freshman that strives to become a future leader through
his/her active participation in and contribution to General
Engineering events. A visionary outlook towards the future,
along with the leadership skills to meet those goals, are
the key characteristics for selection criteria. In short,
the recipient is selected for his/her potential to be the
future leader of a General Engineering student society.
The recipient of this award is selected by the Executive
Board of ISGE. A very generous cash donation
provided by ISGE accompanies the award.
